My students have recently completed an online collaborative project that enabled them to determine the Earth's circumference by measuring the length of a shadow cast by a metre rule, and using trigonometry to analyse their data. This video podcast describes the procedure.

I have been making my own video podcasts for my upper school chemistry students (www.meaghersclasses.podomatic.com) and physics students (www.meaghersphysics.podomatic.com)
for the last year or so, and decided that it was time for my students to let loose their creativity and produce their own episodes. The podcasts that my year 10 general science students are producing will be posted here.
